TASTING SPECIALIST

Part-Time | On-Call | Montreal & Surrounding Area

CIRKA is looking for people who know how to make a great first impression.

As a Tasting Specialist, you’ll bring CIRKA to life in SAQ stores across Montreal and the surrounding area. You’ll pour, present, answer questions, share the story behind our spirits and, most importantly, create a genuine connection with consumers.

Most of the work happens at SAQ tastings. From time to time, you’ll also join us at the distillery for private and corporate events, or represent CIRKA at select trade shows, festivals and other events.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys meeting people, talking about great spirits and representing a brand with confidence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

At SAQ tastings

• Set up and host CIRKA tasting activations;
• Welcome consumers and introduce them to our spirits;
• Pour samples and guide guests through the tasting experience;
• Talk about our products, ingredients, production process and what makes CIRKA different;
• Answer questions and make recommendations based on each consumer's preferences;
• Create an engaging experience without making it feel like a sales pitch;
• Keep the tasting area clean, organized and inviting;
• Set up and pack up tasting materials;
• Complete a short activity report when required.

At distillery events

When we're hosting guests at the distillery, you may also:

• Welcome guests and help create a great first impression;
• Prepare and serve cocktails;
• Pour and serve spirits and whisky;
• Talk guests through selected CIRKA products;
• Help with setup, service and breakdown.
• Make sure people leave having had a great CIRKA experience.

Out in the world

From time to time, you'll also represent CIRKA at trade shows, festivals and other special events.

These opportunities may include:

• Presenting CIRKA products to a broader audience;
• Offering tastings and answering questions;
• Helping set up and maintain the CIRKA space;
• Engaging with consumers throughout the event;
• Representing CIRKA with the same level of care and attention we bring to our distillery.

These assignments are occasional and will vary depending on CIRKA's event calendar.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU GOOD AT THIS

You don't need to be a spirits expert. You do need to enjoy talking to people.

We're looking for someone who:

• Is naturally outgoing and comfortable starting conversations;
• Can make people feel welcome quickly;
• Communicates clearly and confidently in French and English;
• Is curious about spirits and genuinely interested in learning;
• Can explain something without overcomplicating it;
• Knows how to read a room and adapt their approach;
• Is dependable, punctual and comfortable working independently;
• Takes pride in their appearance and the way they represent a brand;
• Enjoys a fast-moving, people-focused environment.
• Experience in hospitality, bartending, sales, tastings, sommellerie, events, wine, beer or spirits is a plus.

We'll teach you the CIRKA products. What we can't teach as easily is natural curiosity and a great attitude.

THE SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, on-call position.

Most tasting shifts take place on Fridays and Saturdays, with occasional weekday assignments.

We’re looking for people who can offer evening and weekend availability and who are comfortable picking up shifts based on their schedule.

• Product and tasting training provided;
• Flexible scheduling based on available shifts.
