A citrus and herb gin born from travel

Limonea comes from a specific memory. Drifting up the Chao Phraya River on a converted rice barge, where each day moved from one vivid village to the next. Mornings spent wandering through crowded markets alive with colour, afternoons looking up at temples that seemed to touch the sky. When the sun went down, there was always a cool drink and a careful meal waiting, a small nightly ritual that felt like a balm after the heat.

That journey became the frame for the gin. Limonea is infused with lemongrass, mint and lemon peel to echo those evenings: citrus to mark the heat, lemongrass for freshness and a quiet herbal note, mint for the final lift in the glass. The flavour stays clear and controlled. It tastes like a summer gin, built to pour easily into tonic, lemonade and fizz, while still carrying the memories of the moment that inspired it.

Distilled by CIRKA

Built on Quebec terroir, distilled in Montréal

CIRKA was the first grain to bottle distillerie in Québec, working directly with local producers and distilling everything on site in Montréal. Limonea follows that same approach. A base spirit from Québec grain is distilled in CIRKA’s custom still, then layered with citrus and herbs selected for a clear, modern profile: lemon, lemongrass and mint.

The intent is to keep flavours precise and easy to read. Rather than leaning on heavy flavouring, Limonea uses distillate and cold maceration to capture aromatic oils gently, which is why the gin tastes bright and clean, with citrus, floral and mint notes that feel intentional rather than perfumed. It is a flavoured gin, but still very much part of the CIRKA gin family in its balance and control.

No. Limonea is a flavoured gin. It has a gentle sweetness to support the lemon and lemongrass, but it was designed to stay clean and refreshing in tonic, lemonade and spritz style drinks, not to behave like a dessert liqueur. The mint and citrus help keep the finish lifted rather than syrupy.

Limonea is bottled at 36 percent alc./vol., lighter than many classic gins. That lower strength is deliberate. It makes long drinks more relaxed without losing the sense of gin in the glass.

Any good neutral or lightly citrus tonic works well. You do not need strong flavour from the mixer because Limonea already carries lemon, lemongrass and mint. If you want to keep the profile sharp and dry, choose a classic tonic. If you prefer something softer, a Mediterranean style tonic with light herbal notes also fits.

Yes. Served well chilled or over ice, Limonea shows its citrus and herb layers clearly. The lower strength and measured sweetness make it easy to sip in small pours, especially as an aperitif on a warm evening.
