Moroccan Brother

The Moroccan Brother is a refined gin cocktail featuring Gin Sauvage, red vermouth, lavender syrup, and apple juice, finished with a couple of dashes of Angostura orange bitters. Floral, crisp, and aromatic, it’s perfect for a sunny afternoon or an elegant evening sip.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin Sauvage

  • 0.5 oz Red Vermouth

  • 0.5 oz Lavender Syrup (recipe below)

  • 0.25 oz Apple Juice

  • 2 dashes Angostura Orange Bitters

  • Lavender Sprig, for garnish

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass.

  2. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 10 seconds to chill and blend flavors.

  3. Strain into a glass filled with ice.

  4. Garnish with a sprig of lavender.

Lavender Syrup Recipe

  1. Combine 500 g sugar with 500 ml water in a pot over medium-low heat.

  2. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Add 1 tablespoon dried lavender and let simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. Remove lavender, let syrup cool, and strain through a fine strainer.

  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.

Pro Tips

  • Lavender aroma: Lightly bruise the lavender sprig before garnishing to release more fragrance.

  • Stir gently: Preserves the subtle floral and herbal notes without over-diluting.
