The Cannonball is a vibrant gin cocktail combining Navy Strength Gin, black cherry juice, amaro, and chocolate bitters. Finished with aromatic tonic, fresh cherries, and a sage leaf, it’s a playful and sophisticated drink perfect for evening sips or brunch with a twist.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Navy Strength Gin

  • 0.25 oz Amaro (preferably Nonino Quintessentia)

  • 0.25 oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 2 oz Black Cherry Juice

  • 3 dashes Chocolate Bitters (optional)

  • Aromatic Tonic Water, to top

  • Slice of fresh or dehydrated lime

  • Fresh cherries and sage leaf, for garnish


How to Make It

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.

  2. Add gin, amaro, lime juice, black cherry juice, and chocolate bitters. Stir gently with a bar spoon.

  3. Strain into a chilled coupette glass.

  4. Top with a splash of aromatic tonic water.

  5. Garnish with a twist of lemon around a skewered cherry and a sage leaf on top.
